Dead Horse Point State Park is an attractive, expansive state park sitting on a 5,362-acre land with a dramatic observatory of the Colorado River and Canyonlands National Park. This cliffside park offers numerous fun activities like camping spots and biking and hiking trails where you will find outstanding views of the river and surrounding canyon country.
 
Residents and visitors of Moab can enjoy part of the scenic rocky terrains and find exciting rugged viewpoints. You can explore nine spectacular peaks, hike alpine trails, and visit Mill Creek, Grandstaff Canyon, and Professor Creek, featuring waterfalls amid the desert landscape. Professor Valley can also be ideal, comprising an area featured several times on the big screen due to its iconic, austere beauty.
 
Moab also hosts several recurring special events and festivals to celebrate various accomplishments. The annual Moab Music Festival, held every September, is an award-winning festival that brings notable musicians to exquisite red rock venues around Moab.
